Na Ketekete Qele, The Basket of Soil, is a compelling drama that intertwines Fijian history, culture and myth. It tells of a Fijian god carrying a basket of soil that split to form the island of Naigani, with its three iconic hills.
Produced in 2011 and curated by Dr Apolonia Tamata, the work premiered at the Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, Japan, sharing Fijian tradition on a global stage. Its rich cast and original vucu and serekali compositions bring the creation story vividly to life. Published by the iTaukei Trust Fund Board.
