Na iLululu

Na iLululu, literally The Handshake, follows an ordinary iTaukei family as they navigate the challenge of keeping kinship ties through the traditional practice of kau ni matanigone, the ceremonial introduction of children to their mother’s village.

Across two acts and ten scenes, with humour and poignancy, it explores generational divides, cultural identity, the influence of social media and the shifting rhythms of urban and village life. Written by Dr Apolonia Tamata and Larry Thomas and published by the iTaukei Trust Fund Board.
