Coconut shell necklace by Rako Pasefika

Coconut shell necklace

This piece is made out of 9 coconut buttons and one coconut shell that were cut and shaped by Rako's production team. The chord is made out of cotton strands woven together to make the chord stronger in order to hold all the pieces together.

5 of the coconut buttons are interwoven with the chord. The remaining 4 buttons form part of the coconut shell design; the shell has been crafted so that there is a small circle in it, and the coconut buttons have been woven through this.

A unique piece featuring coconuts sourced from the Fijian island of Rotuma, some 400km north of the main island Viti Levu.
